Next James Bond: Idris Elba has ‘missed the boat’ but Tom Hardy has a chance (EXCLUSIVE)

Daniel Craig’s No Time To Die may have been postposed seven months, but speculation is always rife over who the next James Bond will be. Two stars who have had very good odds over the past few years are Idris Elba and Tom Hardy. But a 007 expert reckons Elba’s time has passed.

James Bond expert and author of new book Quantum of Silliness: The Peculiar World of Bond, Robbie Sims doesn’t believe producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson are even thinking about Craig’s replacement right now.

Nevertheless, he shared his thoughts on the chances of some of the biggest stars with the best odds of being the next Bond.

Sims admitted: “Idris Elba would be great as Bond.

“I think he’s missed the boat unfortunately since he’s in his late forties now.”

Well with Craig leaving the franchise surely Bond 26 is the perfect opportunity for Nolan to do just that.

Although, at the moment his latest blockbuster Tenet looks like his version of a Bond movie, but with time travel.

The 007 expert also brought up Superman star Henry Cavill, who lost out to Craig in the final round of auditions for Casino Royale.

Cavill was director Martin Campbell’s choice but was considered too young for the role being in his early twenties.
