Emily Blunt’s A Quiet Place Part 2 DELAYED: John Krasinski shares touching message
First went James Bond movie No Time To Die, then Peter Rabbit 2 followed. Now next week’s release of A Quiet Place Part II has been delayed indefinitely amid the coronavirus pandemic sweeping the globe. Emily Blunt’s director husband John Krasinski shared the news with a touching message on Twitter today.
The 40-year-old wrote: “To all our A Quiet Place fans,
“One of the things I’m most proud of is that people have said our movie is one you have to see all together.
“Well due to the ever-changing circumstances of what’s going on in the world around us, now is clearly not the right time to do that.
“As insanely excited as we are for all of you to see this movie…”

Krasinski added: “I’m gonna wait to release the film til we CAN all see it together!
“So here’s to our group movie date!
“See you soon! #AQuietPlacePart2… Take 2.”
A Quiet Place Part II is the direct sequel to the 2018 horror hit which made over $340 million worldwide on a budget of around just $20 million.
A Quiet Place Part II was set for release on March 20, but has been delayed
WARNING: SPOILERS FOR THE FIRST FILM AHEAD.
A Quiet Place Part II is set in the aftermath of the first post-apocalyptic film where Krasinski’s father Lee sacrificed himself so his children escape from blind aliens with incredible hearing.
Then Blunt’s mother Evelyn and her kids worked out that the distorted sound at an amplified frequency could kill the monsters.
In the sequel’s trailer, Krasinski returns for a flashback sequence set before the first movie, while being back on writing and directing duties.

The official synopsis for A Quiet Place Part II reads: “Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence.
“Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realise that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.”
Cillian Murphy stars opposite Blunt as fellow survivor Emmett.
A Quiet Place Part II’s new release date is currently unknown.
Now with three major movies delayed, all eyes are on Disney’s Mulan.
The live-action remake is set for release on March 27 in the UK.
Keeping that date, for the time being, could be to the studio’s advantage now it has no competition from James Bond, which was due a week later.
Nevertheless, it’s still a gamble since cinemas globally could face temporary closure in the coming weeks – as is the case in some countries already – so it’s still possible that Disney will pull Mulan’s release.
