Freddie Mercury’s friends on his ‘OUTRAGEOUS’ sense of humour – 'He always took the p***'
He may have died almost thirty years ago, but Freddie Mercury’s charm and humour is fondly remembered by his fans. Being in the Queen singer’s company was the subject of an episode in new video podcast series Finding Freddie. And now some of the star’s closest friends have spoken of just how humorous the star could be.
David Mallet who directed some of his music videos revealed that Freddie’s humour was “slightly camp mixed with something a little more subtle.”
“It was always humour [with him].
“And he was always willing to take the p***.
“If he was being serious on camera, he would immediately come off camera and start destroying himself with humour.”

Last week, it was confirmed that Freddie’s band had topped The Beatles as one of the biggest recording artists of 2019.
Following such a resurgence in Queen’s music last year, what with the release of Bohemian Rhapsody, the band came fifth.
This was five places above The Beatles and made Freddie Mercury’s band the top legacy music artist.
