When is Harry Potter Day?

Harry Potter Day takes place on May 2 every year.

This date was selected to be the international celebration of Harry Potter as it is the anniversary of The Battle of Hogwarts, the day on which Harry and his comrades defeated Voldemort once and for all.

The battle took place on May 2, 1998, and was commemorated in the book.

Other dates of importance include July 31, 1980, which is Harry’s birthday; October 31, 1981, which is the death of Lily and James Potter; and July 24, 1991, when Harry was invited to go to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
