Chelsea are vying with four other clubs to sign Atalanta star Robin Gosens with the club’s ‘management’ planning to make an approach in the upcoming transfer window.

The Blues are focused on buying a new left-back as the future of current options Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri appears to be uncertain.

Both Emerson and Alonso have been unable to stand out in Frank Lampard’s squad this season and so the west Londoners’ boss had to make due with captain Cesar Azpilicueta in that position.

According to Transfermarketweb, Gosens is among Chelsea transfer chief Marina Granovskaia’s targets but they will have to overcome a host of heavy bidders such as Inter, Juventus, Leicester and Leipzig.
