Avengers 4: Directors speak out on title mystery after Infinity War

As Avengers: Infinity War continues to impact cinemas worldwide, fans are already clamouring for info on its as-yet-untitled sequel, due May 2019.

Speaking to ScreenRant, the brothers confirmed that the title is not revealed at the end of Infinity War on-screen – and you can’t expect it for a little while yet.

“We are going to hang on to that title for awhile,” Joe said.

“We want people to… just soak in the events of this movie. Before thinking about what the next story is.”

Kevin Feige, the Marvel president, previously spoke out about how he regretted holding off on the title to the all-star blockbuster.

“I’ve said before, it’s gotten entirely out of hand,” he told IGN.

“And now will have no chance of living up to any expectations of what it’s gonna be.

“And it sort of backfired, if I’m honest with you, because the notion was to not talk about it so the focus was to be on [Infinity War].”

He also said that the film will be very tightly linked to Infinity War, saying: “They’re absolutely directly connected, as many of our movies are but more so than many of our other movies.

“People will want to know what happens next immediately at the end of it.”

Avengers: Infinity War hit UK cinemas yesterday and US fans can see it as of today.

It’s projected to have an almighty opening weekend at the box office, as word on its shocking plot twists begins to spread.

The film has had a strong showing from critics too; amassing an 86% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Sandwiched between the two films will be Captain Marvel; due out next March.
