Queen Letizia of Spain shows off legs in the wake of mother-in-law Queen Sofa spat

Queen Letizia of Spain, 45, attended the 10th “Proyectos Sociales Banco de Santander” awards at Las Alhajas Palace in Madrid today.

The stunning brunette showed off her fashion-forward style with her colourful ensemble.

Letizia stood up in front of crowds at the event, wearing a tan leather skirt.

The piece had large deep orange pockets and a royal blue waist band.

She matched the skirt with a geometric print t-shirt in orange, blue and white.

The Queen showed off her long legs by adding a pair of strappy tan leather stilettos.

A pair of glittering earrings could be seen twinkling by her face, and her make-up was kept neutral.

The stylish Queen Letizia wore a white suit on an outing with King Felipe. 

A sharp white jacket matched the trousers, and Letizia continued the angelic theme with a white silk top underneath.

Adding some contrast, Letizia held a brown and white leather bag in her hand.

Queen Letizia and Queen Sofia, 79, her mother-in-law, appeared to be embroiled in a spat recently. 

A video of the Spanish monarch, who was once a commoner and a divorcee before she married King Felipe of Spain, captured a tense moment with her mother-in-law Queen Sofia, 79.

Onlookers witnessed Letizia standing in front of Sofia and reaching out to touch her eldest daughter Leonor’s hand, only to shove away Sofia’s hand.

The former Queen appeared to be trying to take pictures with her granddaughters.

The video of Queen Letizia and Queen Sofia sparked comments from other royals.

Will Queen Letizia be at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding? 

It has not currently be announced whether the royal will be attending the royal wedding in Windsor this month.

The Spanish royal family shares a close relationship with the British royals and Queen Sofia – who was Queen during the reign of her husband King Juan Carlos I from 1975 to 2014 – attended William and Kate’s wedding in 2011 as did the then-Princess Letizia.

And speculation has mounted that Queen Letizia will also attend Meghan and Harry’s wedding with her husband King Felipe VI of Spain and her mother-in-law Queen Sofia.

Letizia is known for her elegance and been affectionately dubbed one of the “queens of style in Europe” – with some suggesting the former media personality has inspired Meghan.
