Is Sarah Ferguson invited to royal wedding? Charles snubs her despite Harry's olive branch

Sarah Ferguson, 58, the Duchess of York, has reportedly not been invited to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding reception.

This is despite the fact that Prince Harry, 33, is reported to have made a point of inviting his aunt to his wedding after she was not invited to Prince William and Kate Middleton’s nuptials in 2011.

Sarah, also known as Fergie, is the mother of Prince Harry’s cousins, Princess Eugenie, 28, and Princess Beatrice, 29.

Despite the close family ties however Fergie is not welcome at the reception, thanks to Prince Charles, 69.

However, the Duchess is still invited to the royal wedding ceremony at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on 19 May – along with 600 hundred other guests.

An insider told Mail Online: “Numbers are limited to the evening party, she is not a member of the Royal Family any more and Prince Charles simply doesn’t have time for her.

“He just can’t see why she is still such a big part of his brother’s life.”

This is likely to cause some tension in the Royal Family after recent claims that Sarah Ferguson still lives with Prince Andrew, 58, at the Royal Lodge.

Fergie is said to be “deeply unhappy” not to have received the invite.

It was reported that Prince Harry invited Sarah Ferguson in a bid to heal broken family ties caused by Fergie and her former husband Prince Andrew’s divorce.

This is not the first time the Duchess has not been invited to a royal do.

A month after the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, in an interview on The Oprah Winfrey Show, she revealed she fled the UK for Thailand after never receiving an invite to the wedding.

She said: “I was not invited, and I chose to go and be in Thailand in a place called Camelia and…the jungle embraced me.”

Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew showed their close bond last week when the Duchess gushed over her ex on Instagram.

She posted three separate photos of Prince Andrew to celebrate his being made an Honorary Fellow at a Cambridge College.

She captioned the first post: “Congratulations to @hrhthedukeofyork who was made an Honorary Fellow of @hugheshallcam@cambridgeuniversity and had the opportunity to meet students #education#cambridgeuniversity.”

As Sarah often does with her Instagram posts, she tagged Prince Andrew’s official account, @hrhthedukeofyork.

She then posted a second image of Prince Andrew looking down at a plaque with his name written on it.

Fans weighed in, with many saying that the divorced couple should “get married again”.

One wrote: “Just get married again already”, while another put “Please marry again” with a series of hearts emojis.
