Met Gala 2018: Worst dressed including Priyanka Chopra and Lana del Rey's DISASTER outfits

The biggest and brightest of Hollywood royalty gathered at the Met Gala 2018 last night, which is held annually at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Net York.

This year’s theme was Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination and the stars in attendance went to great lengths to honour the dress code.

But did they succeed? A number of stars, including Meghan Markle’s close friend Priyanka Chopra, missed the mark.

Salma Hayek and Anne Hathaway also picked ill-advised outfits which left them in the worst dressed category.

Every year, Met Gala organisers pick a theme to deliberately prompt celebrities to be more creative.

However, Priyanka Chopra came out in a particularly unflattering heavy red velvet dress, which looked out of place for the time of year.

What’s more, her choice of a gold headdress looked over the top paired with the huge red velvet gown which drowned her slim figure.

 Meanwhile, she paired all this with a long train at the back of her dress which made her resemble a villain from a Disney film. 

But she wasn’t the only star who looked weird in her outfit choice for the high profile event.

Lana del Rey also gave her a run for her money in a strange white and gold frumpy ensemble. 

The beautiful singer went for a floor length monk style gown which gold embroidery which did nothing for her figure.

She accessorised with a gigantic blue headdress that resembled the feathers of an exotic bird.

Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen twinned in huge floor length baggy gowns which dwarfed their petite heights.

Both wore their hair down in long, unkempt strands falling over their shoulders.

Meanwhile, Anne Hathaway opted for a larger than life tomato red atrocity.

The top of the dress, with its puffy sleeves and high neck, resembled a baby’s bib.

The skirt puffed out in an over the top, unflattering way and the material of it looked creased.

In stark contrast, Salma Hayek’s dress clung to every curve of the gorgeous actress’ body, but looked tacky. 

The stretchy material looked like something picked up from a sale rail, while the woodlands print looked juvenile.
