Back to the Future: FIRED original Marty McFly actor has ‘NO memories of shooting movie’
Back in 1984 Stoltz was cast as Marty opposite Christopher Lloyd’s Doc Brown in Back to the Future.
However after just a month of filming, director Robert Zemeckis and producer Bob Gale didn’t think he was right for the part.
The actor was fired and in the end they went with Michael J Fox, who could only shoot at night due to filming Family Ties in the day.
Now in a recent interview Stoltz has revealed he doesn’t really remember much from his short stint as the time-travelling teen.
Speaking with Metro US, the 56-year-old said: “Gosh, I don’t really ever look back on it.
“I don’t really have any memories of it. It was like 30 years ago.
“I honestly never give it a thought.
“I guess, I never look at my career as one of successes and failures.”
Stoltz continued: “It just is what it is.
“I just keep doing it is what I love doing. Sometimes it is easy and sometimes it is hard.
“You just keep going on doing what you love to do. I do consider myself an enormously lucky fellow.
“I love what I do. And I get to make a living doing it.”
He added: “And I am very aware of how lucky that is.
“And I just pinch myself every morning. It is a great life.”
