Avengers Infinity War: Can you download the movie to watch? How has it done at box office?

The Disney-Marvel smash has been watched by millions worldwide, eager to see big purple psychopath Thanos unleash hell on the universe after gathering the six infinity stones.

China is the latest country to release Avengers:Infinity War, earning $76 million on its opening day.

Many fans will be eager to find out if they can stream the Marvel Studios film at home or watch it via DVD or Blu-Ray.

Can you download the movie to watch?

An official release date for Avengers: Infinity War on DVD and Blu-ray has not been set but after its huge takings, the film is likely to become one of the biggest – if not the biggest – home entertainment releases in 2018.

According to dvdsreleasedates, a provisional date of August 2018 has been set for an online release.

Impatient enthusiasts can pre-order copies from major retail sites including Amazon and HMV now.

A digital copy is available to buy on Amazon for £9.99 ($13.99) in SD or £13.99 ($17.99) in HD with bonus content.

You can also purchase the Blu-ray or DVD for £17.99 ($24) and £10 ($13) respectively, although again no release dates are currently listed.

Streaming information is yet to come out – but Netflix, Now TV or Amazon could potentially show the film.

How well has Avengers: Infinity War done at box office?

As of May 10, the Marvel heroes film has taken a whopping $1.268 billion worldwide, becoming the 12th highest-grossing movie of all time.

It also smashed the biggest worldwide opening weekend at £640.5 million upon its release in the United States on April 27.

Avengers: Infinity War has grossed $67.4 million so far in the UK and is on track to become the first summer blockbuster to earn more than $2 billion worldwide.

How well will the film do in China?

Variety reported a record-breaking opening for the movie in China by 10pm on Friday, May 11.

It grossed $66 million on its first full day of release, after raking in $9.3 million in previews alone.

Producer Kevin Feige posted a thank you to the film’s fans after it became the biggest opening weekend film of all time.

He wrote: “To the greatest fans, the past ten years have been an unforgettable ride and we couldn’t have done it without the entire team at Marvel Studios, our incredible talent in front of and behind the camera, the visionary comic book creators, but most importantly you.

“Thank you for embracing these characters and stories since we kicked off the MCU ten years ago.

“This past weekend was a result beyond our wildest dreams.”
