Camilla Parker Bowles, 70, is often seen wearing one bracelet.

The Duchess of Cornwall wears the piece of jewellery often, along with a number of other wrist adornments.

The bracelet has a secret meaning which comes from ancient cultures including parts of the Roman Empire, Islamic texts and Jewish literature.

The thin gold chain has a small nazar, which is often referred to as “the evil eye”.

However, the little amulet, which looks like a blue eye, actually wards off against the presence of the evil eye.

The evil eye is thought to be a curse which is cast by a malevolent glare, which can be given to a person when they are unaware.

It can cause injury or misfortune, according to the ancient wisdom.

In Islamic doctrine Prophet Muhammad said: “The influence of an evil eye is a fact.”

The concept also a appears in the Pirkei Avot, a book of teaching for Rabbis.

Nazars have appeared in many cultures including from Turkey, Greece, Pakistan, India, Ethiopia and Italy among others.

Of course today not many people believe in the existence of an evil eye curse.

However, the nazar is often worn as a fashion trend, seen as a good luck charm.

Camilla’s bracelet also has a cross on it, the symbol of the Church of England.

This is fitting, as her mother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth II, is currently the head of the religious institution.

Camilla Parker Bowles’ jewellery is an enormous collection of lavish jewels.

Camilla Parker Bowles, 70, and Prince Charles, 69, have just returned from a royal trip to France and Greece.

The Duchess of Cornwall did not disappoint with her fashion and jewellery choices on the five day trip.

The mother-of-two looked radiant in the Mediterranean sunshine wearing her four strand pearl choker with intricate diamond clasp.

Camilla also added some glittering jewels to her outfit for an official dinner at the Presidential Mansion in Athens on Wednesday.

Camilla Parker Bowles’ earrings were a pair of white gold and diamond Magic Alhambra earrings thought to be worth around £34,800. The Van Cleef & Arpels design symbolises luck, health, fortune and love.
