Deadpool 3: Will there be another Deadpool movie? Will there be a sequel?

Marvel Cinematic Universe fans have come to expect post-credit scenes.

These scenes give the audience a glimpse of new superheroes on the horizon, and fodder for fan theories.

The first Deadpool movie poked fun at the trope, but Deadpool 2 took the conceit and did what Deadpool does best with it — blew fans’ minds.

Deadpool 2 contained five after-credit scenes, so it’s easy to assume that one of them pointed to a third instalment of the red-masked antihero.

Will there be a Deadpool 3 movie?

According to Ryan Reynolds, maybe not.

But that shouldn’t break your heart because, in lieu of a third solo Deadpool movie, Reynolds teased the idea of an X-Force film.

Reynolds, who plays the eponymous character, told EW: “I feel like the character, in order for him to function properly within his own universe, you need to take everything away from him.”

Given that one of the post-credit scenes already rectified a huge theft from Deadpool’s life, by preventing fianceė Vanessa’s (Morena Baccarin) death, it seems unlikely writers would go that route again.

“I don’t think that you can keep doing that,” Reynolds added.

When will the X-Force movie be released?

Deadpool is set to make another appearance on screens, this time as part of an ensemble.

The long-anticipated X-Force movie will be directed by Drew Goddard, whose previous credits include The Cabin in the Woods.

X-Force will see Deadpool as part of a team, a major character shift for the maverick antihero.

Who will be in X-Force?

Deadpool will be joined by Cable (Josh Brolin), Domino (Zazie Beetz), and Shatterstar (Lewis Tan) from Deadpool 2.

Other comic-canon members of X-Force are Boom Boom, Cannonball (who will appear in The New Mutants played by Charlie Heaton), Feral (a feline-like mutant) and Warpath (a Native American fighter with super strength), who may all appear in the X-Force film.

What will happen in Deadpool 3?

For a film already shocking audiences with its foul-mouthed cleverness, Deadpool would have to really shake things up for another solo movie.

Reynolds had an idea for that. “If you’re going to do another Deadpool solo film, you’ve got to get that budget down to nothing and just swing for the fences, and break all kinds of weird barriers, and do stuff that no one else can do.”

So there you have it, from the filthy mouth of the antihero himself.

A threequel is not totally ruled out. Yet.
