Miss Universe 2017: 'Oral hygiene’ advocate Miss France crowned WINNER of competition

The 24-year-old dental student from Lille had her ambitions to advocate for healthy teeth and gums announced on the Miss Universe website. 

The stunning French model was overwhelmed after winning the contest last night – and she wiped the tears of happiness from her eyes.

Iris, who is The second French woman to be crowned Miss Universe, said: “Miss Universe was a dream, every girl wants to be Miss Universe…the stage is amazing, everything is amazing.”

“I want to help people, I want to understand people, I want to meet people, that’s why this is a dream for me.”

The daughter of a history professor and a schoolteacher has a degree in science and plans to become a dental surgeon.

The 5 ft 8 tooth enthusiast won the titled 63 years after the last French woman became Miss Universe, Christane Martel in 1953.

Raquel Pelissier of Haiti is the first runner-up followed by Andrea Tovar of Colombia.

Last night the SAG Awards 2016 saw some of the worst dressed celebrities of the night include Emma Stone, La La Land star, and Nicole Kidman, Lion actress.

Stunning Nicole Kidman, 49, made an impression on the red carpet.

The To Die For actress wore a green Gucci gown with garish parrot faces on each shoulder. The jungle-inspired garment was quite the eye-sore with its jarring colours and sparkles – not to mention the unflattering ruffles at the bottom of the skirt.

Salma Hayek, 50, wore a custard-coloured yellow dress, with discoloured rubarb ruffles and a velvet belt that looked aged and musty.  

The over-the top-and fussy gown did nothing to flatter the stars top-heavy figure.

The best dressed stars at the event included Kirsten Dunst, who looked sensational in Dior.

Natalie Portman also opted for a white Dior creation – no surprise considering she is a face of the brand.

The heavily pregnant star’s dress featured a high neckline and dramatic sleeves.

She completed the look with delicate art deco jewellery.

Brie Larson, star of hard-hitting movie Room, wore a sleek white dress with a high slit at the front.

She accessorised with black sandals and a slicked back undo.

Adriana Lima risked flashing everything this evening as she attended the IWC Schaffhausen gala dinner in Geneva, Switzerland in yet another sizzling outfit.

The 35-year-old – who regularly flaunts her enviable physique in an array of figure-hugging ensembles – looked as stunning as ever as she walked the cream carpet in a daring dress.

Her glamorous get-up consisted of a pink-champagne coloured gown, which featured an incredibly revealing thigh-high slit that flaunted Adriana’s ridiculously toned pins and a cinched-in waist.

The beauty looked like she was having a blast as she posed for photographers, with her wearing her brunette tresses in loose waves and adding a slick of bright red lipstick for a splash of colour.
