Meghan Markle wears wedding earrings and bridal colours for first appearance as a newlywed
Meghan Markle, 36, made her first official appearance as part of the Royal Family today, attending Prince Charles’ birthday party with new husband Prince Harry, 33.
The new Duchess of Sussex is clealy still on a high after her incredible wedding on Saturday, and was seen wearing her Cartier wedding earrings.
Her hair was also reminiscent of her special day, as she wore it in a low bun similar to the style she chose for her nuptials.
Meghan’s nude-coloured Goat dress, £590, had romantic, sheer arms with a raw, unfinished hem. The rest of the dress, named the Flavia, was quite simple, and came down passed her knees.
She teamed this with a wide brimmed hat by royal favourite Philip Treacy, which she wore to the side.
Prince Harry’s new wife held a small square clutch bag in her hand, and her engagement ring could be seen sparkling on her hand.
A small silver bracelet with gold clasp finished her jewellery.
She completed the look with a pair of peach stiletto heels, and she appeared to be wearing sheer tights – something many of the Royal women do to add modesty to their outfits.
Meghan’s nails were painted in a sleek nude colour to tie-in with her outfit.
The former-actress kept her make-up simple, otping for bronzer and nude lipstick.
Harry joined his wife for the event, and wore a top hat and tails which he paired with a bright blue tie.
The couple were attending The Prince of Wales’ 70th Birthday Patronage Celebration, which was held at Buckingham Palace today.
Clearly more in love than ever after their wedding, Meghan and Harry walked around the grounds arm-in-arm.
It is expected they will take a short, one night break in Ireland before heading off on a longer honeymoon later this year.
Meghan stunned at her wedding on Saturday, wearing a Givenchy dress for the church service before changing in to Stella McCartney for the evening reception.
Her wedding was as widely watched worldwide as that of Kate Middleton to Prince William in 2011 – but how did her two dresses compare to Kate’s?
For the evening, Meghan had changed from her Claire Waight Keller for Givenchy gown, instead wearing the simple Stella McCartney evening dress, featuring a high halter neck and more sultry open back.
At her nuptials, Kate slipped into a white strapless satin number in the evening made by her wedding day designer-of-choice, Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen.
The two women chose very different day dresses too – Meghan opted for a simple silhouette. The main design twist of the dress was the open bateau neckline, a classic 50s style.
Kate wore a fitted white V-neck gown with a sheer lace overlay. The design was reminiscent of Grace Kelly’s dress for her wedding to Prince Rainier of Monaco in 1956.
