WARNING: Major spoilers ahead for Avengers: Infinity War.

Spider-Man was one of the many Marvel characters who died at the end of Infinity War; turning to ash when Thanos initiated the Snap.

Although multiple surprising heroes met similar fates, it was Peter Parker’s that arguably had one of the biggest emotional impacts on the audience.

That’s because, in his final moments, he hurried over to Tony Stark – saying “I don’t feel so good. I don’t know what’s happening.

“I don’t want to go. I don’t want to go, Mr. Stark, please.”

Fans had wondered how he had a heads-up on what was about to happen, while other characters didn’t realise they were disintegrating until it actually happened.

Now, the Russos have confirmed that it ties into Parker’s Spidey sense; which was documented at the very start of the film when his arm hair stood on end.

“That’s correct,” Joe Russo told Huffington Post. “He was aware of something.”

The pair had also previously revealed that Tom Holland largely improvised that final dialogue.

The directors also told the publication that they were unsure whether Groot could sprout again from the handle of Stormbreaker – which was made from his own sacrificed arm.

“I don’t know if every piece of him that detaches … can grow a future version of him, but who’s to say?” Joe answered. “That’s an interesting question.”

Avengers: Infinity War ended on a monumental cliffhanger with the deaths of around half of the MCU.

Its sequel has already been filmed, reshoots and pick-ups aside, and will be released in a year’s time.

Avengers: Infinity War is out now.
