Avengers 4 working title REVEALED: It has TWO meanings for the plot of Infinity War sequel

By now a spectacular number of people have seen Avengers 3 and an equal number of jaws have hit the floor in shock and horror.

It is on course to become the third biggest film of all time after Titanic and Avatar, and could still pip the former to second place.

All attention is focussed on the Marvel sequel, which hits cinemas next April.

The directors have alreay teased the title of Avengers 4 could not be revealed yet beause it will give major clues to what will happen, but new leaks have just confired the movie’s working title. 

Jeremy Conrad at MCU Cosmic said: “I have been able to confirm what the title was internally for a very long time.

“Through multiple sources I’ve received confirmation that throughout production, they really were referring to the second half of Thanos’ story as Infinity Gauntlet.

“Throughout filming that’s what they were calling the movie, but as everyone knows the title accidentally was blurted out at the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 premiere. That’s why they were so quick to jump on it and try to put out the fire.”

It really does sound like this was the intended title before Zoe Saldana’s slip forced the Marvel team to rethink.

Now that fans have seen Avengers 3, they know that the remaining heroes must try and reverse The Snap.

The most popular theories all point towards time travel or even alternate dimensions, and the use of the Infinity Stones in the past to correct the present.

Some believe Eitri or even Tony Stark will construct another Gauntlet, while others think the heroes will seek to destroy enoug of the Stones in the past, to prevent Thanos ever bein able to use teh Gauntlet for its ultimate, terrifying purpose. 

The word ‘gauntet’ can also be used to imply the desperate and harshy punishing trials the remaining Avengers will have to undergo to complete their more critical mission ever.

The filmmakers still deny that Avengers Gauntlet was ever the intended title for Avengers 4. It may be that it really was just the infomal working title for the movie during filming in Atlanta last year.

Either way, it looks like an Infinity Gauntlet, whether Stark’s, Eitri’s or Thanos’ original will feature heavily in the final film in this extraordinary cycle.
