Can you watch Solo: A Star Wars story online on Netflix? Can it be streamed?

Despite slightly disappointing box office sales, fans are still turning out for Solo: A Star Wars Story.

The origin movie stars Alden Ehrenreich as a young Han, originally played by Harrison Ford.

Emilia Clarke, famous for her role as Daenerys in Game of Thrones, plays Qi’ra, the morally ambiguous female lead.

Donald Glover plays a young Lando Calrissian, the suave smuggler and original owner of the Millennium Falcon.

Not at the moment, no.

Other Star Wars movies, like Rogue One (the prequel that dovetails almost exactly with the beginning of A New Hope) and The Force Awakens, are on Netflix but not in the UK, disappointingly.

Disney may be throwing a wrench into your future Star Wars binge streaming plans.

Disney has plans to start its own streaming service, which means removing all of its titles form the ubiquitous Netflix.

The new service is set to launch in Autumn 2019, meaning there may be a gap in which Solo will live on Netflix for a brief period of time before being moved to the in-house streaming site.

When that move will happen is still unconfirmed.

Disney’s platform will start with a domestic service only and then expand overseas.

For now, you can continue to pay to stream other Star Wars movies in different places, like iTunes, YouTube, and Google Play.

Amazon may be your best bet in the mean-time for watching everything Star Wars has to offer, though even with prime you’ll have to pay a bit extra.

The upside of a Disney own streaming service is that the entire Star Wars universe will finally be streamable in one place, including Solo: A Star Wars Story.

When that will be is still anyone’s guess, so your best bet is to get back in the queue at the cinema if you want another Star Wars fix in the UK.
