X-Men Dark Phoenix Movie leak: Shock spoilers leaked – what were they?

Earlier rumours around X-Men Dark Phoenix were particularly exciting for Marvel fans, who have already had an epic year with the release of blockbusters such as Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War.

The release of X-Men Dark Phoenix was thought to introduce a species of aliens called Skrulls.

This addition to the X-Men universe would have been a canon link between them and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As Disney prepares to buy Fox, the rights to X-Men and the Fantastic Four are tipped to return to Marvel giving this theory a bit of a foundation.

But new, unverified, spoilers are now casting doubt on this theory following the movie’s test screening.

Were X-Men Dark Phoenix spoilers leaked?

Sort of, maybe, and no.

But if you believe the credibility of a Reddit user who claims to have been to the X-Men Dark Phoenix test screening, then yes.

The Reddit user said “X-Men don’t go into space in the third act” and there is no reference to the Skrull whatsoever.

The user, who now has deleted their account, was apparently part of a group who attended an X-Men Dark Phoenix screening in February.

This user also claims that Mystique, played by Jennifer Lawrence, dies.

Young Jean, played by Sophie Turner of Game of Thrones fame, reportedly accidentally kills Mystique in the cut of X-Men Dark Phoenix the Reddit user saw.

Jessica Chastain is reported to be in the film too, though her character name was never mentioned in this same cut.

However, Reddit now claims this user was fake, despite them having shown proof to mods they had attended the screening.

Given all the hoopla around the X-Men Dark Phoenix movie spoilers, readers should take all of this with a salt-bae sized pinch.

X-Men Dark Phoenix is being directed and produced by Simon Kinberg, who is also set to co-write the recently announced Star Wars: Boba Fett movie with James Mangold of Logan success.
