Avengers star Chris Pratt forced to explain WHY Star-Lord ruined EVERYTHING for Avengers 4

No sooner had the dust settled (sorry) on Avengers 3 than fans were looking for someone to blame.

Peter Quill often bumbles and is ruled by his heart (and ego) not his head, but surely he doesn’t deserve the level of attacks and accusations hurled at him?

Iron Man, Spider-Man, Mantis and Drax came so close to wrenching the Infinity Gauntlet from a hypnotised Thanos, before Star-Lord lost his cool and punched the Mad Titan, breaking Mantis’ control.

It seems undeniable that everything which happened after that – like, you know, the ending of half of all life across the universe – is completely Star-Lord’s fault.

So why does Pratt insist he doesn’t regret a “motherf***ing” thing?

The star was doing press with Bryce Taylor Howard for Jurassic World 2 when he was asked to explain or try and defend his actions in Infinity War.

He told Radio Times: “People seem to be upset with Star-Lord. Look – the guy watched his mother die, he watched as his father-figure died in his arms, he was forced to kill his own biological father. And now has suffered the loss of the love of his life.

“So I think he reacted in a way that’s very human, and I think the humanity of the Guardians of the Galaxy is what sets them apart from other superheroes.

“I think if we did it a hundred times I wouldn’t change a motherf***ing thing.”

He also made the very good point that if they had seized the Gauntlet, the movie (and its sequel) would have been over rather faster.

Pratt added: “I guess you could have the movie end a half hour earlier if you wanted… but it seemed like people really like it, so…

“Really I blame Thanos. Jeez, how come he’s not getting any blame. Really, I’m very sensitive about this.”

Asked if he’s been getting a lot of attack over this moment in the movie, the poor guy simply cries, “Yes!”

The filmmakers have also pointed out numerous times that it’s not only Star-Lord who messes up. 

Thor had the chance to end Thanos’s life as he hurtled from the sky with Stormbreaker, but he wanted a moment to gloat so he struck the Titan in the chest not the head, allowing him time to snap his fingers…
