Queen Maxima channels Meghan Markle as she attends opening of children’s hospital

fter a hectic and style-packed official trip to India, Queen Maxima of the Netherlands is back on her home turf.

The 47-year-old, who is married to Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, attended the opening of the Princess Maxima centre for Pediatric Oncology today in Utrecht, a city south of Amsterdam.

The centre has special facilities for treating children with cancer.

Meeting and greeting children and patrons of the hospital, the stunning Queen wowed in a pale pink, fairy-tale like dress, made of a delicate mesh material.

The dress is very similar to the nude-pink ensemble worn by the new Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, at her father-in-law’s 70th birthday party.

Coming to just above her ankles, the summery gown delicately draped around Maxima’s slender 5’10 frame.

Adding a sense of romanticism to the event, the dress had a sheer décolletage and sheer top later over an under layer, with princess-like flared sleeves.

Known for her fashion-forward style, the elegant, classic-style dress was jazzed up with funky white and gold patterns, concentrated around her tiny waist and spreading across the dress.

Drawing more attention to her slender waist, the Dutch Queen wore a thin gold belt to match.

Seeing the nude, gold and white theme through, she matched the summery dress with a show-stopping wide-brimmed gold hat.

Reminiscent of a Disney Princess, the blonde Queen wore pale pink, shimmery shell earrings to the opening of the children’s hospital.

She added a classic pair of nude, pointed toe stilettos to the look, elongating her long legs.

Matching the stilettos to a tee, the held a pair of leather nude gloves in her hand, wearing one on her left hand.

The stunning Queen had a beauty look to match, going for a nude and pink palette with her eyeshadow and lipstick.

She wore her glossy hair coiffed in a tight bun beneath the show-stopping hat.

Queen Maxima, who hailed from Buenos Aires, Argentina and worked in sales before she married Prince Willem-Alexander, has three children.

Her outfit is very similar  to the £590 Goat dress worn by Meghan Markle for Prince Charles’ 70th birthday garden party. 

The Queen of the Netherlands is known for her quirky and daring approach to fashion, wearing a striking, canary yellow wrap-around skirt on her recent trip to India. 

Smiling and laughing as she played cricket with locals on her trip to India, the skirt came to just above the ankles, with a stunning golden traditional print covering the material.

Similarities between Maxima’s style and Kate Middleton’s style while in India didn’t go unnoticed.
