Queen Maxima follows SAME style rule as Meghan Markle & Kate Middleton – can you spot it?

Queen Maxima, 47, presented the Appeltjes van Oranje 2018 at Noordeinde Palace in The Hague today.

The award is presented annually to three special, innovative projects in the field of social welfare or social cohesion.

The Dutch royal wore an ice blue dress for the formal event, the colour perfectly setting off her blonde hair.

Deceptively simple, the dress featured a long ruffle on one side for added interest.

But it wasn’t the dress that channelled the British royals, but something else in Maxima’s look.

She paired the dress with a pair of nude tights which are a staple of the Duchess of Cambridge’s wardrobe.

Meghan Markle has also donned sheer tights since she joined the Royal Family after her wedding last month.

Maxima kept the rest of her outfit chic, wearing a pair of stiletto grey pointed toe shoes.

She carried a small blue leather handbag with an oversized gold clasp in her hands.

And she didn’t hold back on the jewellery, opting for a pair of large pearl drop earrings and a small pearl string bracelet.

A large silver brooch and large pearl ring completed the look.

The mum of three wore her hair swept up into a perfectly styled updo with a side-parting.

The rest of her makeup was simple, and she wore a clear gloss on her lips and heavy mascara.

The Dutch royal has been busy this week, stepping out to attend the opening of the Princess Maxima centre for Pediatric Oncology yesterday in Utrecht, a city south of Amsterdam.

The centre has special facilities for treating children with cancer.

Meeting and greeting children and patrons of the hospital, the stunning Queen wowed in a pale pink, fairy-tale like dress, made of a delicate mesh material.

The Queen of the Netherlands is known for her quirky and daring approach to fashion, wearing a striking, canary yellow wrap-around skirt on her recent trip to India. 

Smiling and laughing as she played cricket with locals on her trip to India, the skirt came to just above the ankles, with a stunning golden traditional print covering the material.

Similarities between Maxima’s style and Kate Middleton’s style while in India didn’t go unnoticed.

Queen Maxima may have taken inspiration from the Duchess of Cambridge’s wardrobe and itinerary for her trip. Kate visited India and Bhutan in April 2016.
