Avengers Infinity War: What will Captain America's fate be in Avengers 4?

Every Marvel fan can agree that Captain America is one of the best as his steadfast nature and stoic optimism make him easy to love.

Captain America’s backstory endears him even more to audiences.

But to understand how we get to the theory of Captain Ameria’s fate, you have to know a bit about his history.

The 2011 Captain America: The First Avenger movie brings us Steve Rogers, who undergoes medical experimentation and becomes Captain America.

He fights alongside the allies during World War II and, in the process, meets and falls in love with British agent Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell).

But this isn’t the kind of movie that gets a happily ever after and Captain America sacrifices himself for the greater good, leaving Peggy behind.

However, Steve Rogers wakes up to find he’s been frozen for 70 years and, in a post-credits scene, Fury proposes a mission to Captain America which starts off this whole journey.

Given Captain America’s emotional attachment to Peggy and the prominence of time travel in the newer Avengers movies, fans are beginning to suspect Captain America may be reunited with his love one more.

Time travel means Captain America could be sent back to the days following VE Day, bringing him back together with Peggy.

The theory comes via Reddit user knoxvile10 who claims to have seen the theory on Instagram.

Captain America would have to lie low given that he would probably remember the future timeline enough to cause some serious waves in the future.

There is the little matter of Peggy’s unnamed husband, but some fans are speculating that the unnamed husband might even be Cap himself.

One Reddit user said: “If he travels back in time and becomes her husband and he is who her husband always was and that’s how his arc ends I’ll drink a bottle of Tabasco.”

Marvel fans already know that Captain America will sign off from the Marvel Cinematic Universe at the end of Avengers 4.

Allowing him to go back in time to spend the remainder of his days with his one true love would be a perfect send-off to a beloved Avenger.
