Meghan Markle: Royal princess copies her wedding dress less than a month after nuptials

Meghan Markle, 36, married Prince Harry, 33, less than a month ago on May 19 – but that hasn’t stopped another famous royal from copying her royal wedding dress.

Princess Sofia of Sweden, 33, yesterday stepped out in an emerald gown which looked exactly the same as the halterneck dress Meghan wore for her wedding reception.

Meghan’s reception wedding dress was designed by Stella McCartney, and a replica dress will soon go on sale for £3,500.

She wore it for her and Harry’s evening wedding reception at Frogmore House, Windsor Castle.

The Swedish royal, who is married to Prince Carl Philip, wore the elegant lookalike dress to attend the 2018 Polar Music Prize Award ceremony in Sweden yesterday.

Sofia dressed the style up with a pair of bold flower shaped statement earrings.

But this wasn’t the only element of Meghan’s style that the gorgeous brunette royal copied.

She also gave a nod to Meghan’s signature hairstyle: a messy up do with strands escaping around the front section.

While Sofia opted for a low ponytail rather than Meghan’s usual bun, the hair style paired with the dress was undeniably Meghan inspired.

Sofia also opted for a natural look makeup akin to Meghan’s makeup on her big day.

She paired glowing, radiant skin with a hint of dark eyeliner and a pink lip.

Like Meghan, Sofia chose to make her dark eyebrows the focal point of her cosmetics look.

While the two women are not known to have met, it is likely they will do so as part of Meghan’s royal duties.

Sofia is already known to Meghan’s sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, 36, having attended her wedding to Prince William, 35, in 2011.

It is not uncommon for royals to take style cues from one another.

In fact, Meghan Markle followed a number of style lessons from Kate Middleton for her engagements with the Queen in Cheshire this week.

The newest member of the royals followed a number of key style lessons from the Duchess of Cambridge. Having been married to Prince William since 2011, Kate is often held up as an example of royal style etiquette.

From her nude nails to her sleek, wavy blow dry, Meghan paid homage to Kate’s style cues throughout the years.

For instance, she wore clear tights as part of her outfit. It is believed the Queen considers tights essential for royal women, and Kate is unfailingly seen wearing them when her legs are on show.

While Meghan broke the Queen’s style rule shortly before she married Prince Harry, it appears she is now following Kate’s lead.
