Camilla Duchess of Cornwall arrives for Order of the Garter in ethereal white ensemble

Stepping out to attend the Order of the Garter service at Windsor Castle, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, 70, wowed in an unusual white an black ensemble.

High-ranking royals are in Windsor today to celebrate the Order of the Garter, the oldest and most senior order of chivalry in the UK – dating back to 1348.

The Queen, along with 24 knights, all wear full royal regalia. Prince William and Prince Charles are both in the order.

Normally one for pale pastel colours, Camilla stunned in the white dress and embroidered black and white jacket.

Glistening in the sun, Camilla’s white simple shift dress came to the knee and featured large pleats falling down from the hips, cut in an elegant v-neck exposing her décolletage

She covered the dress with a stunning black and off-white embroidered jacket, cinched in at the waist.

The beautiful jacket featured formal lace embroidery, with black flowers around the top of the jacket, leading down to a elegant mix of black and white flowers around the bottom of the jacket.

As she mixed with other members of the Royal Family, chatting happily to Sophie, Countess of Wessex, Camilla shielded her blonde hair from the sun in a white, wide-brimmed hat with a black tie around the base.

The black tie added a more modern edge to the otherwise classic look.

Keeping with her black and white attires, Camilla held a small black clutch bag in her hands.

She also accessorised the look with a pair of classic comfy looking mid-heel shoes, with black pointed toes and a cream body.

In signature Camilla style, she wore her well-worn pearl choked with a striking silver pendant joining the rows of beads in the middle.

The mother-of-two matched the choker with a classic and understated pair of peal earrings.

Adding a touch more sparkle to her Order of the Garter attire, she wore a delicate silver bracelet on her right wrist.

Underneath her wide-brimmed hat, she wore her hair in her classic blow-dry, feathered and framing her face.

Befitting of the occasion and royal beauty traditions, she wore barely-there makeup, with a light pink colour on her lip.

The Order of the Garter sees the Queen and the 24 knights wear her famous grand blue velvet robes, full insignia and iconic plumed hats.

According to royal tradition, there can only be 24 knights at one time, on top of the Queen and Prince Charles.

St George’s Chapel, the location for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s May nuptial, is the home of the Order of the Garter ceremony, with the service taking place there every year.

The installation of the new Garter Knights will take place during the service today.

Camilla’s husband Charles was pictured wearing the traditional mantle and hat of the order alongside Prince William who was also wearing the velvet cape and hat for the ceremony.

The mantle is a dark navy blue robe worn by members since the 15th century, while the hat is a Tudor bonnet of black velvet with a plume of white ostrich and black heron feathers.

Charles and Camilla have just returned from a tour of Northern and the Republic of Ireland. 

Spotted sharing an intimate moment on the beach misdt the busy tour, Camilla wore a stunning emerald dress – befitting on the location – as the two walked alone on a Kerry beach. 

Forgoing her usual high heels, Camilla walked barefoot in the sand. However, she still kept her nude tights on.
