Melania Trump and Queen Letizia compete for tiniest waist – Letizia uses First Lady trick

Melania Trump, 48, and Queen Letizia, 45, were pictured side by side today as the Spanish queen visited the White House.

Melania and husband Donald Trump, 71, President of the US, hosted Letizia and her husband King Felipe at the famous political home.

But all eyes were on Donald and King Felipe’s glamorous wives, who had both gone out of their way to show off age-defying figures.

It was hard to tell who had the tiniest waist as they both wore skinny belts highlighting their slim middles.

However, Queen Letizia had a trick up her sleeve inspired by the First Lady herself.

She wore a £1,286 pink dress from US designer Michael Kors.

The form fitting dress showed off the former newsreader’s stunning figure.

The deep shade of pink also served to highlight Letizia’s glowing tan.

While the choice of an American designer was appropriate for the occasion, it also had a second significance.

Melania wore Letizia’s exact dress in blue last year to welcome the Panamanian President, Juan Carlos Varela and his wife, Lorena Castillo Garcia de Varela.

It appears that Letizia has taken style cues from the First Lady, albeit in a different colour. The dress nipped in at the waist, while the buttons on the pocket created the illusion of an hourglass figure.

She paired it with a pair of £280 shoes from Venezuelan fashion designer Carolina Herrera.

The designer is known to be a favourite among US First Ladies, including Melania herself. 

Queen Letizia’s pulled together the look with a pair of £266 earrings by Gold & Roses.

She also carried a bag by Magrit, a Spanish designer.

Meanwhile, Melania wore a dress from the Valentino Resoirt 2018 collection which is not yet available to buy.

The women’s coordinating shades of pink and khaki looked so complementary together it was almost as if they had planned it.

Earlier this year, Melania and Brigitte Macron, 65, coordinated at the White House.

They walked behind their husbands on a public appearance to plant a tree near the West Wing of the famous political building.

Both women showed off stunning long tanned legs as they walked alongside each other.

Melania wore a black cape style coat which came to midway down her thigh. Meanwhile, Brigitte defied her age in a cream coat which stopped some way above her knees.
