A new trailer has arrived for Shane Black’s sequel The Predator.

After a stint directing part of the Marvel franchise, Shane Black has returned to franchise territory with his injection of new blood into the Predator movie series.

The plot for the Predator reboot goes like this: “From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home.

“The universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species.

“When a boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.”

Shane Black is best known as the director of The Iron Man 3.

As a writer, Black penned Lethal Weapon and its sequel, The Monster Squad, The Last Boy Scout, Last Action Hero and The Long Kiss Goodnight

Black holds the title, as of 2018, for thirteenth highest grossing film worldwide for Iron Man 3.

He even co-starred in the original Predator movie from 1987 as the ill-fated Hawkins.

Shane Black will get to put his stamp on the sci-fi action franchise from the other side of the camera.

The Predator sequel stars Boyd Holbrook (Narcos) as Quinn McKenna and Yvonne Strahovski as Quinn’s ex-wife Emily McKenna, and the mother to Rory played by Jacob Tremblay (Room).

Rory has a form of autism and is bullied in school but becomes a key player in the fight against the Predators due to his adept ability to learn languages.

Trevante Rhodes (Moonlight) plays Nebraska Williams, an ex-Marine who enlists in a Predator-hunting operation headed up by Quinn, his best friend.

They are joined by Keegan-Michael Key (comedian), Olivia Munn (X-Men), and Sterling K. Brown (American Crime Story).

James Franco was originally offered the role of Quinn, but passed.

Then before Benicio del Toro was cast but he had to back out due to scheduling conflicts.

The Predator is lacking in anticipation, but Fox is bringing the movie to San Diego Comic-Con hopefully to generate more hype.

Comic-Con viewers will likely be treated to never before seen footage.

Shane Black and at least part of the cast should be in attendance.
