Queen Maxima looks stunning in Holland after sister’s funeral following shock tragedy

Queen Maxima looked radiant in cream holding a bunch of stunning flowers.

The mother-of-three looked far more youthful than her 47 years.

The wife of King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, 51, was back on official duty a week after her sister’s funeral.

Maxima, originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, married her husband in 2002.

Today the pair visited Hoorn during the regional visit of the West-Friesland and North-Holland province.

Maxima wore a stunning and ladylike dress with a full skirt.

The top was made of chiffon and had delicate ruching.

The royal added a cream clutch bag and gloves, and a large wide-brimmed hat.

Diamond earrings hung either side of her face, made up with dark smokey eyes and a nude lip.

On Tuesday Queen Maxima was in the Dutch town of Zevenaar.

She met children in the town, and wore some large statement jewellery earrings for the occasion.

Today’s look is far more classic when compared to Maxima’s look on Tuesday, when she wore a navy blue suit.

Queen Maxima’s younger sister tragically died aged 33 this month. 

The royal made a statement about the sad event at the UMC Groningen Proton Therapy Centre.

She said: “I’m so pleased to be back at work at this centre, which helps so many people suffering from cancer.

“People who are ill, but who haven’t lost hope to recover.

“My sweet and talented younger sister Ines was also ill. She was unable to find happiness and sadly couldn’t get better.

“Our only consolation is to think that she has finally found peace.”

Queen Maxima’s style is lauded across Europe, and she follows the same rule as Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton.

The subtle style choice is thought to be a British royal rule.
