Ant-Man and the Wasp end credit scene: Janet reveals HOW Avengers 4 TIME TRAVEL happens?

Pay very close attention to the closing minutes of the movie.

Marvel fans already know not to leave until the screen goes blank. Sometimes they are rewarded with funny little skits, other times they get a major plot reveal or teaser for future movies.

The first Ant-Man 2 after credits moment features Scott Lang with Michelle Pfeiffer’s Janet Van Dyne. She is giving him instructions on the Quantum Realm but looks straight at the camera when she says two words that will probably define Avengers 4.

Coudl Marvel be any more unsubtle?

WARNING SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT

The Marvel movie may not be out in the UK until August but it opened on July 5 in the US and the modern world waits for no schedules.

It has been widely reoprtde that there are two end credit scenes. One simply is the usual Marvel comedy relief, with an ant and a set of drums.

The other packs a huge emotional punch as The Snap takes place while Scott is in the Quantum Realm. Major characters are shown turning to dust, like so many other MCU favourites.

But it is what happens just before that has huge implications for Avengers 4.

Janet knows more than anyone about the Quantum Realm, having been trapped there for 30 years, and she gives Scott a piece of advice just befor he enter’s Hank’s Quantum Tunnel.

Janet tells him to be careful and make sure he avoids the “Time Vortex.” 

This clearly means there is a part of the Quantum Realm where time is more fluid. It sounds incredinbly dangerus, but it alos sounds like it could be very useful to a group of heroes desperate to rewrite the most terrible act in the entire history of the universe.

This also links directly to TWO major leaked plot points from Avengers 4.

MCU Cosmic reports that the leak reveals Tony Stark and Scott Lang will travel in time using one of Hank’s inventions.

Will Scott and Tony find a way to navigate the Time Vortex? 

It also suggests that Scott will first be trapped in the Quantum Realm while some years pass out in the real world. Many believe Avengers 4 wil pick up years after Infinity War. The different looks of the surviving Avengers in the new promo art clearly shows that some time has passed. 

Mentioning the vortex this way almost guarantees Scott will enter it. What happens next (or before, during or in an alternate timeline) is certain to make our heads hurt just a little bit more…
