Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, wears McQueen for Prince Louis' christening
Kate Middleton, 36, looked radiant in an outfit by her wedding dress designer Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen.
The mum-of-three chose cream for the event, and her dressed featured a slight v-neck and puffed sleeves.
The Duchess of Cambridge paired this with an unusual hat by Jane Taylor which sat on top of her head like a headband. The cream creation featured silk flowers and sprays of net.
Kate wore her hair in a large, low bun which sat elegantly underneath the hat.
She held tiny baby Prince Louis in her arms as she walked in to church, while Prince William, 36, arrived with Prince George, 4, and Princess Charlotte, 3, holding on to either hand.
A pair of pearl flower earrings could be seen in her ears. Showing her experience of holding young children, the Duchess wore a pair of killer heels in a complimentary tan colour.
Beaming Kate kept her makeup simple for the christening, choosing a dark brown eyeshadow and lashings of mascara. She also seemed to be wearing her favourite black eyeliner.
This is the third christening Prince William and his wife have overseen, with Prince George and Princess Charlotte already long christened.
It is, however, the first royal christening for Meghan Markle, 36, who attended with husband Prince Harry, 33.
The Duchess of Sussex wore a green Ralph Lauren creation, which she paired with a hat by Stephen Jones.
Pippa Middleton, Prince Louis’ aunt, was also in attendence. The mum-to-be chose a powder blue custom made Alessandra Rich coat dress.
Grandmother to Prince Louis, Carole Middleton, 63, wore something very similar to her youngest daughter.
Granny Carole stepped out in a Suzannah silk crepe 1940s ‘Influence’ dress in powder blue. The dress is available online for £1,250.
It wasn’t just the adults who were dressed up for the ocassion, with Prince Louis wearing a very special gown for his big moment.
Releasing a statement on his gown earlier today, Kensington Palace wrote: “The Royal Christening Robe, of fine Honiton lace lined with white satin, was made in 1841 for the christening of Queen Victoria’s eldest daughter, Victoria, Princess Royal.
“The original gown was subsequently worn for all Royal christenings, including The Queen, her children and her grandchildren, until the youngest of The Queen’s eight grandchildren, James, Viscount Severn.
“The Queen commissioned Angela Kelly to make a hand-made replica of the Royal Christening Robe in order to preserve the original.
“James, Viscount Severn, was the first member of the Royal Family to wear this replica gown at his christening at the private chapel at Windsor Castle on 19th April 2008.”
After the short church service, the party moved on to Clarence House for cake.
They will feast on fruit cake which was originally created by Fiona Cairns for Kate and William’s wedding in 2011.
