Star Wars 9 leaks: Casting call reveals MAJOR scene – with Finn and Poe?

Production on the trilogy finale is about to begin ahead of its 2019 release, with key players such as Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and Oscar Isaac all set to return.

The Making Star Wars podcast has revealed an interesting slice of info about filming – involving a big scene between Boyega and Isaac.

The hosts claimed bosses are looking for “stern-faced individuals” to be extras for a shoot that will last throughout August.

This could tie-in with rumours that a Finn and Poe sequence set “in some kind of bar” will be filming at around the same time.

If so, it could be a hugely important scene – filming for several weeks.

Could we be looking at the equivalent of Last Jedi’s Canto Bight, or the Cantina in A New Hope?

As ever, nothing is official at this stage; but it’s interesting that the background artists for the sequence will all need to have a relatively stern look.

What is known is that Keri Russell will be joining the cast in an as-yet-unknown role; padding out the cast once more following the on-screen deaths of the likes of Laura Dern’s Holdo, Gwendoline Christie’s Phasma and Andy Serkis’s Snoke.

As for Mark Hamill, it remains unclear whether or not he will make an appearance as a Force Ghost, after Luke Skywalker died at the end of The Last Jedi.

However after recently shaving off his beard, speculation has ignited that he won’t be filming a cameo – at least not at this early stage of the production process.

Billy Dee Williams, meanwhile, is all but confirmed to reprise his role as Lando Calrissian.

Episode 9 follows 2015’s The Force Awakens and 2017’s The Last Jedi, and ends the so-called Skywalker Saga.

After that, two more separate trilogies are in the works – with multiple rumoured but unconfirmed spin-offs and anthology tales.

Star Wars: Episode 9 is out on December 20, 2019.
