Brain teaser ’only smart people can solve' – can YOU figure it out?

Brain teasers can come in many forms, be it poems, riddles, puzzles, optical illusions or even confusing questions.

They have a concealed meaning, prompting the brain to work overtime to solve the brain-teasing riddle.

One brain teaser is claiming that it can only be solved by “smart people”, calling on Britons to challenge themselves and prove their smarts.

The riddle was posted on SilverDoorApartments.com, and comes with the intro: “Think you’re the smartest one in the office?

“Our collection of head-scratching riddles and brain teasers will settle the battle once and for all…”

The brain teaser calls on readers to identify what is being described, presented in a very cryptic manner.

The riddle goes: “I have seas without water,

“Coasts without sand,

“Towns without people, and mountains without land, what am I?”

The brain teaser provocatively claims to only be able to be solved by “smart people”.

Being very cryptic it may leave many Britons confused, scratching their head for the answer.

However, the answer is quite simple: a map.

Maps display oceans, towns, deserts and mountains, but only portray them on paper.

The riddle forms part of a series of brain teasers on the real estate website, challenging “smart” people to solve them.

Another riddle in the series by Silver Door Apartments is one asking for people to identify what killed a man. 

The riddle goes like this: “Two men had lunch together and ordered iced teas to drink.

“One man had five during lunch while the other man only had one.

“All of the drinks were poisoned.

“The man that only had one drink died, but the man that had five drinks survived.

“How can that be?”
