Star Wars Episode 9 title: Could THIS be the title of the new Star Wars movie?

Star Wars Episode 9 has already stirred up its fair share of rumours and fan theories.

With a year and a half to wait for its arrival in cinemas, there’s plenty of time for theories to be proved or disproved.

Could THIS be the title of the new Star Wars movie?

A Reddit thread has started a chain of speculation about what the title of Star Wars Episode 9 could be.

The most plausible is A New Order, which follows in the footsteps of previous Star Wars movies, whose titles often reflect the plot.

Other perhaps less likely titles include Knights of Ren, The Last Hope, and Return of Knight.

So far all we have to go on is the working title.

Episode 9 has the working title trIXie (formerly Black Diamond).

There doesn’t seem to be anything special to this working title, besides figuring a way to work the roman numeral for nine into the title.

This would fly in the face of the most recent release, Solo, whose working title was Red Cup.

Red Cup is a hint at the American plastic-cup company Solo (a popular staple in pop culture and reality for American college students).

As for trIXie, Research by Fantha Tracks uncovered “documentary proof of the name change, the same research methods and public sources were used by the same team to uncover the production names of every Disney era Star Wars film to date.”

Some fans, however, believe the name points towards Andy Serkis who plays Snoke, as it was a word he often uttered as Gollum in Lord of the Rings.

Could this mean Snoke is back? Who knows.

Marvel fans were quick to jump into the Reddit thread, offering a slew of potential titles for a series of future films.

Whatever the title ends up being, fans will undoubtedly analyse it for potential spoilers for the final instalment of Star Wars Episode 9.
