Aladdin live action remake FIRST REACTIONS from Disney test screening are in

It’s not released until next Spring, but the live action remake of Disney’s Aladdin has already had test screenings.

Recent adaptations of the 1990s animated feature films have been so-so with critics while raking in over $1 billion worldwide.

With the recent success of The Jungle Book and Beauty and the Beast, it shouldn’t be a surprise that Disney are planning to cash in on Aladdin, Dumbo and The Lion King next year.

And now a couple of Hollywood insiders have revealed the general first reaction to the test screening of Aladdin.

Daniel R tweeted: “Hearing from test screening that Guy Ritchie’s Aladdin is pretty okay.”

While ViewerAnon replied: “I’ve heard it’s swell but not super memorable.”

This test screening response follows one from July.

According to Disney insider Skyler Shuler: “Aladdin had a positive test screening.

“Dumbo looks heartwarming, Jon Favreau’s adaptation of The Jungle Book was so good that my expectations for The Lion King are set pretty high.”

The voice actor also provided animal noises for Aladdin’s monkey Abu and Jasmine’s tiger Rajah in the 1991 film.

The rest of the teaser saw Aladdin being ushered into the Cave of Wonders by Jafar.

Sadly there was no first look at Will Smith’s Genie, but hopefully he’ll pop up in the next trailer in the next few months.

Aladdin will be released in UK cinemas on May 24, 2019.
