Austin Powers 4: Mike Myers teases plans for Dr Evil-centric sequel

It’s been sixteen years since Goldmember, the third outing in the spy spoof series, was released.

And following the sudden death of Mini Me star Verne Troyer last month, Austin Powers 4 seemed like a pipe dream.

However Myers has now teased it could happen, but as a Dr Evil spin-off.

Speaking at the premiere of his new movie Terminal, the 54-year-old said: “I can’t say. But it’s, you know, maybe. It’s a very strong maybe. We’ll see.”

The Canadian comedian continued: “I would love to. I’ve had three kids in the last six years and that’s sort of been where my focus has been. 

“But, you know, I love doing all the characters and it’s a non-stop party when we’re shooting. It’s fun.”

He also told Entertainment Tonight: “I would love to do a movie from Dr. Evil’s perspective.

“So it would be Dr. Evil 1, Austin Powers 4, is how I would roll… Start the campaign, please. Thank you.”

Myers also paid tribute to Troyer saying: “Verne’s legacy is that he was a fantastic comedy actor.

“We wrote it [and] the part wasn’t much, and he made it definitely better.

“He was a great stuntman, a great dancer, a great mime and a great human being.”

Last month the actor actually reprised Dr Evil for the first time in years, as part of a sketch on The Tonight Show.

Talking to host Jimmy Fallon, Dr Evil explained how he had been fired from President Trump’s cabinet.

He also lamented being sidelined as Steve Bannon was given Secretary of Evil instead of him.
