Avengers 4: Does THIS prove Wolverine and Green Goblin are entering the MCU?

Next year Avengers 4 (probably titled Avengers Annihilation) hits cinemas marking the end of the first saga of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Spider-Man Far From Home will kick off the franchise’s reboot without the likes of Iron Man and Captain America and is expected to introduce a whole host of new characters.

While we know sequels to Black Panther and Doctor Strange are in the running, it’s now been alleged that a Dark Avengers script has been completed.

According to That Hashtag Show, Marvel Studios are developing an adaptation of the comic.

The outlet writes: “To be clear, Marvel Studios has many scripts for many projects, not all of which will make it to the big screen.

“It’s a smart move for the studio to commission as many scripts as possible knowing that at any time someone might come up with a take on an IP that blows people away while also knowing some of them will go straight to the bottom of the pile.

“We at That Hashtag Show don’t pretend to know where in that pile the Dark Avengers sits, only that a script for the IP was completed.”

Marvel fans will know Dark Avengers were formed by Norman Osborn, aka Green Goblin, after the US loses faith in the Avengers.

Apart from appointing his own team of superheroes, Osborn disguised members of his Thunderbolts as former Avengers.

These included Spider-Man, Captain Marvel, Hawkeye and Wolverine, while Norman himself used Iron Patriot’s armour.

With this in mind, assuming Marvel Studios went down this route, we could be seeing a new incarnation of both Spider-Man’s arch-nemesis and Wolverine himself.

The latter is now possible since Disney, who owns Marvel Studios, recently purchased the rights to Fox, who own the rights to the X-Men and Fantastic Four.
