Avengers 4 Endgame release date moved by ONE WEEK but UK and US fans will not see it first

The wait for the trailer was almost unbearable but now that it is here attention is already turning to the main film itself. Avengers Endgame will bring the first three Phases of the MCU to a dramatic close. It is the most important Marvel release of all time so it seemed rather confusing to have wildly different release dates around the world. The recent huge disparity between Ant-Man dates was attributed to the World Cup but there could be no possible reason why Avengers 4 was opening so much later in major territories.

The new trailer was accompanied by a release date at the end. This referred to the American market.

Previously, the Marvel blockbuster had been scheduled for a May 3 US release slot. IMAX had already announced US screenings from April 26, but many mistrusted the information, believeing it referred to European dates.

The official US release date has now officially been brought forward by a whole week to April 26. In the UK there had been some confusion over whether it would out on April 26 or 27, but that has now also been cleared up in line with the US dates.

However the film still opens in other countries before that.

As always, there will almost certainly be evening screenings the night before the wide release, since Thursday night screenings are used to boost the all-important opening weekend box office totals.

So the earliest UK and US fans might see the movie is April 25.

However some countries will get their first look a few days before that, so hardcore fans may want to start booking their flights.

As the full list of dates shows, France and Italy release on April 24, with Germany, Hungary, Portugal and Slovakia on the following day.

With the US being brought up by a  week to avoid the inevitable spoilers and reactions online ruining the experience for American audiences, it still seem strange that other major terriritories still have an earlier release date.

Times could still change and it seems probable that advance screenings will start in the US on the 25th or even 24th.
