Avengers 4 Endgame trailer reveals 'How Captain America will DIE' – Did you spot THIS?

Everyone is hoping for some happy endings, but it is much more likely Marvel will continue to break fans’ hearts. The epic conclusion to the first three phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will also bring a close to the story arcs of some of the original and central main Avengers. With time travel widely rumoured, the secret hope is that Steve Rogers will be sent back to live out his days in the arms of Peggy Carter. Unfortunately, the opposite may happen.

The First Avengers ended with that classic tear-jerking scene of Steve crashing the plane as poor Peggy listened in anguish. Steve had her photograph in a locket on the dashboard and has carried it with him ever since. 

A key scene in the first Endgame trailer showed him still looking lovingly at the image of his long-lost love. It must have been done to make fans think of that original scene.

Marvel has done a phenomenal job of seeding plot clues throughout all three phases and has also woven in recurring themes and circular plots and this means Captain America may have a truly devastating final scene.

The original codename for Avengers 4 already gave a massive hint to what is coming and then the trailer hammered the point home.

The trailer experts at TrailerTrack claimed that it was initially codenamed Capstone, which the Oxford Learners Dictionaries defines it as: “The best and final thing that somebody achieves, thought of as making their career or life complete.”

Add in the unmistakable correlation between ‘capstone’ and ‘Captain America’ and Avengers 4 is setting up Steve’s final and greatest sacrifice.

After all, a reunion with Peggy in the past would be lovely, but it would also necessitate erasing her subsequent life and marriage.

A new Reddit theory adds: “Each of the original Avengers character arc is going to be parallel to character arc from their solo movie,” most particularly Captain America.

The theory explains: “I believe we got hints of his very ending. Just like in Captain America:The First Avengers, Steve’s going to fly a weird ship (the “do you think this will work” moment in trailer) to his doom while looking at the picture of Peggy, but this time, dying for real.”

It will make great sense for his storyline, as well as great cinema.

As for Peggy, perhaps he will join her for that dance, but somewhere in the afterlife.
