Avengers 4 Endgame trailer: Will SPOILER rescue Tony Stark from space?

After months of speculation, the Avengers 4 trailer finally arrived today. Not only did it reveal the official film title is Endgame, it showed that Tony Stark is close to death. He was last seen stabbed by Thanos on Titan, surrounded by the wreckage of crashed ships and watching Peter Parker, Peter Quill and Dr Strange crumble to dust. The new trailer shows he has somehow made it into space but all hope seems lost.

Indeed, Stark is shown recording a  farewell message to Pepper Potts, telling her food and water ran out four days earlier and oxygen is about to do the same. He appears to be on the Guardians’ ship along with Nebula, floating stranded in space.

Is this really the end for Tony Stark?

While many fans are convinced he will die in this movie, making one last heroic sacrifice, it is unlikley to happen so early on or in such an undramatic way. So, who will save the day?

As the leader of the Avengers and the entire MCU for the first three Phases, it would seem fitting that Iron Man will be rescued by the one person who will take up his mantle going into Phase 4.

All the remaining Avengers and their allies are on Earth. There is only one major hero at large out in the universe and she is expected to make her dramatic Avengers debut in Endgame.

The Infinity War end credits scene showed Nick Fury page Captain Marvel just before he himself was killed in the Snap.

Not only does the incredibly powerful hero possess the ability to fly through space, she is also an experienced pilot. Whether she is rushing to Earth in her own ship or at the head of a Kree fleet, Marvel would be the perfect person to rescue Tony and Nebula.

Reddtor Hadesman1 voiced what many are already thinking: “I think we all know he’s (Tony Stark) going to make it to Earth somehow but and the answer is pretty obvious. After the snap, Captain Marvel was signaled to Earth by Nick Fury, my guess is that she’ll find Tony on the way and give him a ride back to Earth.”

This would also be the perfect symbolic way for the MCU torch to be passed from its previous bearer to the next.
