Avengers 4 official art proves TIME TRAVEL and reveals opening scene after Infinity War?

It looks like all those clever Marvel fans were right, after all.

Two different Marvel concept art reveals (one official, one leaked) have seemingly finally confirmed how time travel will play into Avengers 4. 

But how?

A big shock came with the release of a series of images by official Marvel artist Pete Thompson, especially one depictng Thanos after The Snap in that iconic mountain paradise. Suddenly a huge new clue has been dropped and it may hold the key to Avengers 4.

Pete Thompson shows the recognisable idyllic tiered valley where Thanos has gone for his retirement, after wiping out half of all life across the universe.

What is so striking is the name of the image: Thanos Titan village. Fans know that Titan is a wasteland, a destroyed and desolate planet.

Clearly Thanos has used the Time Stone to travel, most likely back to a period before his people exhausted their homeland’s resources. 

Last week’s leaked team image of the massed heroes is also packed with clues about a jump forward after Infinity War.

As well as the thrilling first look at Captain Marvel displaying her powers, the images shows different things about other familiar faces which all lead to the same conclusion.

This is not straight after the end of infinity War. Time has definitely passed.

It seems certain that Avengers 4 will open some time, possibly years, after The Snap.

Black Widow has changed her hair back to dark red again and Captain America is clean-cut and blonder.

Iron Man still is wearing his “bleeding edge” armor from Infinity War. Is Tony Stark a broken mn after losing so many comrades, failing to save billions of lives across teh universe and, most painfully, watching his protegee Peter Parker die in his arms? Has he retired as Iron Man and given up developing new tech and new suits of armor? 

War Machine, in contrast, is showing off some massively upgraded hardware. If Iron Man has stepped down, is Rhodey now Earth’s front line of defence?

Fans have already poured over the more human-looking Hulk. The most popular theory is that he is the “Professor Hulk” incarnation from the comics. This is a new incarnation where the Bruce Banner and Hulk identities have learned to co-exist and manifest at the same time to a degree. This can only have happened over a period of time. 

Avengers 4, it seems, will almost certainly time jump forward and open years after the Infinity War ending.
