Avengers 4 title: Was Mark Ruffalo FIRED after leaking Avengers 4 title on Jimmy Fallon?

Mark Ruffalo is known as the loose-lipped star of the Avengers franchise.

The Hulk actor previously spoiled the ending of Avengers Infinity War a full year before its release.

Now the actor is in trouble for leaking the title of Avengers 4 during his appearance on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

The leaked title, Avengers: Annihilation, was purported by MCU Cosmic writer Jeremy Conrad.

The Russo brothers, Joe and Anthony, are the directorial team behind the Avengers saga.

Taking to Twitter, Ruffalo himself tweeted at Fallon, saying: @JimmyFallon, I trust that you will cut my spoiler slip on the show tonight.

“That was “off the record” homey. Please don’t get me in trouble with Marvel (Barry) again. DM me back. M”

A reply came swiftly, but not from Fallon.

Instead, the Russo’s hit back: “Mark, you’re fired.”

Of course, the Hulk actor hasn’t been fired from the franchise, but the tweet has certainly reinvigorated fans interest in the upcoming Avengers movie.

Some fans think the whole moment was Marvel trolling blogger Conrad for the leak of the title.

Daniel R wrote: “Some people are saying “Come on why would they bother trolling some blogger”.

“Here’s the thing; I know for a fact Marvel were *pissed* and calls were made last night after the title got leaked.

“So I’m not shocked they trolled @ManaByte [Conrad]. And they used Fallon for it. Well played.”

Avengers: Annihilation would be an apt title, as it fulfils the Russo’s previous claim that the title would be a spoiler for Infinity War.

The title also fits into the prevailing fan theory that the original generation Avengers will sacrifice themselves to bring back the newer heroes.

This coincides with Chris Evans’ recent retirement from the role of Captain America.

Like Evans’, other stars’ contracts are up after Avengers 4, including Thor’s Chris Hemsworth and Iron Man’s Robert Downey Jr.

Ruffalo also has a six-movie contract, of which Avengers 4 could be the last, presuming cameos don’t count towards that final number.

Brie Larson as Captain Marvel is set to be the new face of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Her solo movie debuts in March 2019.

Avengers 4 is out in cinemas April 26, 2019.
