Avengers 4 trailer 'coming on Friday': New threat WORSE than Thanos revealed

Marvel fans should have had their first look at the Infinity War sequel today, along with the title for Avengers 4.

The state funeral for George W Bush in the US is believed to be the reason nothing materialised and now major US sites are reporting the A4 teaser will arrive online worldwide on Friday.

With a full-length Captain Marvel trailer already released this week and the first Spider-Man Far From Home trailer expected on Saturday, it is an unprecented week for the MCU.

A new official Marvel release also just confirmed two popular characters have survived the Snap, what the remaining people on Earth now call that shocking event, AND the imminent arrival of an even more terrifying threat.

Brandon T Snider’s new young adult novel is packed with juicy hints about what is coming up after the events of Infinity War.

Marvel’s Avengers Infinity War: Cosmic Quest Volume #2: AFTERMATH is out now and gives the first confirmation that the Snap is now known as the “Decimation.” This is a nice Easter egg hommage to the well-known Decimation plotline from the 2005 spin-off from the House of M storyline where Scarlet Witch literally ‘decimated’ mutants worldwide by leaving only one in ten with powers.

The new novel also puts Thor favourites Erik Selvig and Darcy Lewis front and centre.

Firstly this confirms that both survived the Snap (or Decimation). Second the book confirms something even worse is coming.

The book description says: “In the wake of Thanos’ horrifying success, the people of Earth are left reeling in despair and confusion. Without any logical explanation for the blip-out event, those remaining must pick up the pieces.

“Doctor Erik Selvig and his associate Darcy Lewis are determined to find and understand the cause of the devastation. With a team of friends both old and new, they embark on a pursuit of knowledge, eager to discover the links between their own pasts and the stones that decimated half of humanity – the Infinity Stones. Little do they know that a new foe who threatens to destroy them all all is looming.”

Who is this foe?

The popular rumour that Avengers 4 will be called Annihilation has sparked hopes that Annihilus will be the main enemy in Marvel Phase 4.

Of course, Endgame also remains the other firm title favourite.  Then again, Aftermath also has a nice ring to it…

All will be revealed, it is hoped, on Friday.
