Avengers Endgame: Black Widow 'DUMB' scenes mocked by Robert Downey Jr in TV interview

Earlier this month, the two stars joined Paul Rudd and Chris Hemsworth to chat to Jimmy Kimmel on US TV.

Speaking ahead of the Avengers: Endgame premiere, which took place on Monday, Downey Jr revealed that he would be screening the Marvel film at his house over Easter weekend.

When he joked that he’d play the film “on a loop”, Kimmel pointed out that the length of the movie – a bladder-testing three hours – would make it hard to show it more than once.

“We can fast-forward through the dumb stuff,” Downey Jr quipped.

Johansson asked: “What’s the dumb stuff?!”

And Downey Jr quickly joked: “I don’t know. Your character arc.”

As the audience gasped in a mixture of shock and laughter, a mischievous Downey Jr embraced an affronted Johansson.

“What?!” she said. “I’ll get you back for that.”

It’s a big movie for both Johansson and Downey Jr, who are long-term key players in the MCU.

In fact, Johansson made her debut in Iron Man 2 – Downey Jr’s second film as Tony Stark (third if you include the credits sting in The Incredible Hulk).

Express.co.uk won’t spoil any plot points here, but safe to say Avengers: Endgame is huge for both of them.

The film’s box office takings are set to be massive, and bookies have dramatically slashed the odds of it becoming the top-grossing film of all time.

“Judging by fan expectation, Avengers: Endgame could be one of the most watched movies of all time and, in fact, we expect it to smash all box office records,” a Betway spokesperson said yesterday.

“We are just 4/6 that by the end of 2019, it beats Avatar’s 10-year record and becomes the highest-grossing film of all time.

“The superhero spectacular looks a shoo-in to be the highest-grossing movie at the UK box office this year at 2/5, with the ninth Star Wars and The Lion King next best at 4/1.”
