Avengers Endgame posters: Which characters survived the snap and which didn't REVEALED
Avengers: Endgame debuts in cinemas in only a month. Fans are currently preoccupied with the potential ticket release date. But Marvel yesterday released a new swathe of artwork so fans have something new to focus on.
What do the posters reveal about Avengers: Endgame?
There were a few characters whose fates at the end of Avengers: Infinity War was still unclear.
But the new batch of character posters released has revealed who survived the snap and who did not.
All of the Avengers who perished in the snap were given black and white posters.
In particular, fans were shocked to have confirmation that Shuri fell victim to Thanos’ snap.
AVENGERS ENDGAME: IS CAPTAIN MARVEL IN THE NEW AVENGERS TRAILER?
The character, played by Letitia Wright, is a fan favourite for her take-no-crap attitude in Black Panther and Infinity War.
Up until yesterday (Tuesday, March 26), fans suspected Shuri might be alive still.
The other Avengers who were snapped out of existence, or “dusted”, did so on screen.
Shuri, however, was not shown on screen leading many to believe she had survived.
AVENGERS ENDGAME: WHY NICK FURY WAITED SO LONG TO CALL CAPTAIN MARVEL
Then, Angela Bassett, who plays Ramonda, Shuri and T’Chala’s mother, told Screen Rant she and Shuri were still alive in the aftermath of Infinity War.
Later, in the first Endgame teaser, Shuri was simply listed as missing.
But the new poster confirms many fans’ worst fear.
Of course, the fallen Avengers will likely not stay fallen for long.
Avengers: Endgame’s entire plot is centred around undoing the snap.
MARVEL MOVIE CAMEOS: WILL STAN LEE CAMEO IN OTHER MARVEL MOVIES?
How this will happen remains to be seen, but one prevailing theory says the first generation Avengers will sacrifice themselves to bring their fallen friends back.
In a featurette released at the same time as the posters, Chris Evans said: “They’ve truly levelled us. Not just literally, but morally and emotionally.
“The good thing is it’s always easier to build people back up after they’ve been broken down.
“That’s what Marvel’s great at doing. It’s that shred of hope everyone’s looking for.”
So it seems like there could be a happy ending for all of the Avengers after all.
Avengers: Endgame is out in cinemas on April 25, 2019.
