Avengers: Endgame is one of the most anticipated movie events of 2019. Like Star Wars Episode 9, Endgame also closes the chapter of one of cinema’s most beloved franchises. The Marvel Cinematic Universe will move into Phase Four with the conclusion of Endgame.

Here is all you need to know about the Avengers: Endgame trailer, broken down.

New teams

The Avengers have been bouncing around the galaxy for decades together.

In the trailer for Endgame, the teams have been swapped around once again.

Fans were thrilled to see the return of Natasha and Clint (aka Black Widow and Hawkeye).

A new pair in the trailer was Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper) and James Rhodes aka War Machine (Don Cheadle) fight alongside each other.

Captain Marvel

Another potential new team is Thor and Captain Marvel.

Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers appeared in the last moments of the Endgame trailer.

She and Thor shared a fun moment which sent fans raving on Twitter.

Not to mention the very appearance of Captain Marvel in the trailer further boosted fans’ excitement.

The new white uniforms

The uniforms had been leaked via a toy design a few months ago.

However, in the new trailer, they have been confirmed – but only on some of the Avengers.

Captain America (Chris Evans), Nebula (Karen Gillan), Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), War Machine (Don Cheadle), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) are all wearing the suits.

However, Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), Bruce Banner aka the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) do not appear in them during the trailer.

The setting

The new trailer reveals very little about the setting of Avengers: Endgame and the clips are a montage of flashbacks and nonchronological moments featuring the superheroes.

Notably, Iron Man appears alongside the group – meaning he somehow made it out of space.

Hawkeye is also in Japan when he is found by Natasha.

Ant-Man is wandering around what looks like San Francisco, his hometown.

This proves, like the previous Avengers: Endgame trailer, that Scott Lang escaped the Quantum Realm.

The rest of the Avengers are scattered in a variety of unidentifiable locations.

Time travel, but not as you expect

Natasha’s hair has always been an indicator of time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

When Captain Marvel meets Thor, Natasha’s hair is short and blonde – the way it was styled in Avengers: Infinity War.

When she meets Hawkeye as Ronin in Japan her hair is red and blonde.

But in the part where she is in the new uniform with her fellow Avengers, her hair is fully red.
