Avengers: Endgame trailer predictions: Here's what you WILL and WON'T see in the trailer
The Avengers: Endgame trailer is here. It has been a long seven months since the fateful film Avengers: Infinity War, but the Avengers: Endgame trailer had been met with setbacks. The initial release date was scheduled for Wednesday, but the unexpected funeral of President George HW Bush resulted in a delay. With the trailer now released, we’ve updated our below predictions with where we were right, and where we were wrong…
Here’s what will be in the Avengers 4 trailer.
The Remaining Avengers, Assembled
In the wake of Infinity War, many favourite superheroes were wiped out of existence by Thanos.
After the Snap, many of the original Avengers were the only ones left standing.
The trailer will almost definitely show the first generation Avengers assembled to defeat Thanos.
The cast of remaining heroes includes Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye and Black Widow.
Other second generation heroes to feature include Captain Marvel, War Machine, Ant-Man, Nebula and Rocket.
AVENGERS 4: WILL TILDA SWINTON PLAY THE ANCIENT ONE IN AVENGERS 4?
Thanos – wrong!
Thanos was not spotted in the teaser, despite what many assumed.
It should go without saying that the main baddie of Infinity War will feature in the trailer.
Despite the distraction that ‘new threat greater than Thanos’ poses, the Infinity War sequel tease card read “Thanos will return”.
Reports also claim Josh Brolin, who play Thanos, spent a hefty chunk of time filming on the set of Avengers 4.
There may be another villain waiting in the wings, but the Avengers have a bone to pick with Thanos.
The Quantum Realm – wrong!
No sight of the Quantum Realm, but a sneak Ant-Man did appear at the end of the trailer.
Many fan theories predict the use of time travel and the quantum realm as a major plot point in the reversal of Thanos’ snap.
Ant-Man/Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) was last seen trapped in the quantum realm, while the world around him suffered the aftermath of the Snap.
AVENGERS 4: COULD THESE VILLAINS BE BIGGER AND BADDER THAN THANOS?
Failed Futures – wrong!
Though it would have been cool, we did not see this – as far as we knonw…
One Reddit user, dssullyas, wrote: “I think it would be cool if it was a montage of some of the failures that Dr strange saw when he looked into the future with a voice over from Tony.”
And here are some fan theories on won’t make the cut for the Avengers 4 trailer.
Time Travel
Unless the Quantum Realm is not featured, it’s unlikely time travel will be shown.
Any flashes of the past will likely be presented as just that, flashbacks, as opposed to bonafide time travel.
AVENGERS 4 TRAILER LEAK: COULD THIS BE THE PLOT OF AVENGERS 4 TRAILER?
Fallen Avengers
Those who vanished as the Mad Titan made good on his threats will likely not appear.
How they are resurrected is integral to the plot, and to show any of them (unless in a flashback) might be too revealing.
Upcoming Battles
Many fans have bemoaned the state of current trailers, which give too much of the plot away.
If the Captain Marvel trailers are anything to go by, there won’t be too many extended-cuts of action sequences to spoil the movie.
Avengers: Endgame will be out in cinemas on April 26, 2019.
