Avengers Infinity War: Josh Brolin reveals what Thanos is REALLY thinking in final scene

Avengers Infinity War was Thanos’ film pure and simple. While he’s the villain, the narrative was structured like the classic hero’s journey; one that followed him instead of the Avengers. But what makes the Mad Titan so frightening as a Marvel villain is that he thinks he’s the good guy. Thanos set out on a quest to collect all six Infinity Stones and use them to kill half the universe to “perfectly balance” it into order.

And by the film’s conclusion, he does exactly that, with the final scene showing him back on Titan hobbling out of a hut, where he now presumably lives as a simple farmer.

Looking out on the landscape Thanos smiles, before the screen cuts to black.

Now Brolin, who was motion-captured to play Thanos, has revealed what was going through his character’s mind in that scene.

According to Marvel’s Avengers Infinity War – The Art of the Movie book, Thanos is “totally satisfied.”

During the film’s commentary, he said: “See there, with his Gauntlet and the arm, the power that it takes to use all six Stones is significant, and clearly damaged the Gauntlet and damaged Thanos permanently.”

In fact, in that final scene, Brolin was commenting on, you can see Thanos limping.

Exactly how this damage will affect Thanos in Avengers 4 remains to be seen.
