Avengers star: ‘Chris Evans’ Captain America replacement could be black or a woman’ WATCH

He’s starred in both the Avengers and Captain America trilogies so far.

And with Avengers 4 due next year, this could be the last fans see of Evans’ Steve Rogers.

But is it possible his mantle will be picked up by someone else?

Certainly, this is the case in Marvel Comics and now Crossbones star Grillo has spoken out on the matter.

Speaking with Larry King, Grillo commented on the rumour Evans will be leaving the role of Captain America for good.

He said: “That ran its course, those guys are all getting a bit old.”

“There have been rumours that Captain America could be African American.

“It could be a woman. You know? So they’re looking.”

He added: “I’d love to see Sam [Wilson, Falcon] take up the mantle of Captain America as well.

“It’s very interesting because the idea of Captain America in the comics is not a particular person, but more of an ideal.

“In the same way with Thor: If you’re worthy you can pick up the hammer and have his powers.”

Avengers 4 will be released in UK cinemas on April 26, 2019.
