Bird Box on Netflix streaming: How to watch online – cast, plot and more

Bird Box is a post-apocalyptic horror film featuring your worst fear.

The film is based on the 2014 novel of the same name by Josh Malerman.

In the novel, the story is told in part via flashbacks and takes place during three different time periods.

To avoid your worst fear, don’t open your eyes.

What is the plot of Bird Box?

The plot of Bird Box follows the character of Malorie, who is pregnant at the start of the trailer.

Malorie spends the movie trying to survive, and keep her two children safe, from an unseen force of evil.

“People describe an entity that takes on the form of your worst fears,” one of the characters explains.

The only way for Malorie to make it to safety is to lead her children through the woods and along a river – blindfolded.

Who stars in Bird Box?

Sandra Bullock, whose most recent outing was in Oceans 8, stars as Malorie.

Sarah Paulson plays her sister, Shannon.

Other cast members include Rosa Salazar, Danielle Macdonald as Olympia, Machine Gun Kelly as Felix, Amy Gumenick as Samantha, and Happy Anderson as River Man.

In so far unnamed roles are John Malkovich, Trevante Rhodes, Jacki Weaver, Lil Rel Howery, David Dastmalchian, Tom Hollander, and BD Wong.

Julian Edwards plays Boy and Vivien Lyra Blair plays Girl

Whether they are Malorie’s children remains unclear.

Bird Box is directed by the Oscar-winning Danish director Susanne Bier.

The tagline for the film reads: “never lose sight of survival.”

When is Bird Box available to stream on Netflix?

Bird Box is available on Netflix on December 21, 2018.

It will be hosted on the streaming platform in the UK, USA, Italy, Netherlands, and Singapore.

As for other countries getting a release, this remains to be seen.
