Bohemian Rhapsody fired director Bryan Singer SLAMMED again: ‘It’s like Rami Malek said’

Singer departed Bohemian Rhapsody a few weeks before filming finished, after alleged unrest on-set between him and Malek. He has since faced more allegations of sexual abuse, which he has denied. Appearing at the Santa Barbara Film Festival earlier this year, Malek spoke out on their fractured relationship and said their time together was “not pleasant”.

Now, Sophie Turner – who worked with Singer on X-Men: Apocalypse – has echoed Malek.

The Game of Thrones star will reprise the role of Jean Grey for the upcoming Dark Phoenix, but Singer is not involved this time around.

She told Rolling Stone: “Our time together was, like Rami said, unpleasant.”

The actress had been speaking about what she has learned about the twisted power dynamics within Hollywood.

She told the publication: “There’s a lot of Sansa [her Game of Thrones character] in me.

“You go into something and you think it’s going to be a huge dream, and then you figure out, ‘Oh, wait. I have to be very strategic about everything.

“‘And Harvey Weinstein is Joffrey or Ramsay. Probably worse than that. A White Walker.’”

Malek had said: “In my situation with Bryan, it was not pleasant, not at all. And that’s about what I can say about it at this point.

“For anyone who is seeking any solace in all of this, Bryan Singer was fired.

“Bryan Singer was fired, I don’t think that was something anyone saw coming but I think that had to happen and it did.”

Bohemian Rhapsody won multiple accolades despite the off-camera drama, including Best Actor at the Oscars for Malek.

Turner will next be seen in the final season of Game of Thrones, which lands next month.
